Mountain Brook completed the 2016 season with a 8-3 record. With their 5-2 region record and a second place finish in Class 7A region three, the Spartans earned a spot in the playoffs in 2016. It marked the first time since the 2013 season that the Spartans qualified for the playoffs. The Spartans hope to continue the success they had last season. The Spartans open the 2017 season at home against non-region opponent Gulf Shores on Friday, August 25 at Spartan Stadium.
